TRAGIC DATES OF THE SHOAH 1. April 1, 1933 -- Nazis boycott all Jewish shops and businesses
2. April 11, 1933 -- Nazis issue a decree defining a non-aryan as anyone who is descended from one non-aryan (especially Jewish) grand parent.
3. Sept 29, 1933 -- Nazis prohibit Jews from owning land
4. July 22, 1934 -- Jews are prohibited from getting legal qualifications or practicing law.
5. June 14, 1938 -- Nazis order Jewish businesses to register
6. July 25, 1938 -- Jews are prohibited from getting medical qualifications or practicing medicine
7. Aug 17, 1938 -- Nazis require Jewish women to add the name Sarah and men to add the name Israel to all legal documents and passports.
8. Nov 9/10, 1938 -- Kristallnacht
9. Feb 21, 1939 -- Nazis force Jews to hand over all gold, silver, and jewels.
10. May 13-June 17, 1939 -- 937 Jews try to escape Nazi rule on the ocean liner "St Louis". They seek refuge in Havana, Miami, NYC, and Montreal. They are refused entry to all countries. They are forced to return to Europe where is believed they were all lost in the Shoah.
11. Oct 26, 1939 -- Forced labour is decreed for all Jews aged 14-60.
12. July 1940 -- Heinrich Himmler (Heydrich) presents his Madagascar Plan to the Fuhrer. He proposes to deport all Jews to the African island of Madagascar and use it as an island prison. (plan was rejected)
13. Jan 1941 -- Auschwitz-Birkenau begins using the gas Zyklon-B to mass kill Jewish prisoners. The bodies are buried in mass graves in a nearby meadow.
14. Dec 28, 1942 -- Dr Josef Mengele begins a long history of ghastly experiments on Jewish prisoners at Auschwitz.
15. Summer 1943 -- Camps begin "liquidating" prisoners. Auschwitz is gassing and burning over 9000 prisoners/day.
